The National Student/Parent Mock Election
The National Student/Parent Mock Election is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization which actively aims to enhance citizen interest in the electoral system. Since 1980, millions of students and parents have been casting their vote and building confidence in the political world through schools across the country. The NSPME has fostered greater participation in voting, which hopefully will encourage young and old voters to speak their minds for many years to come.
The Michigan Mock Election
The Michigan Mock Election is part of the National Student/Parent Mock Election. This program strives to make Michiganian students and parents aware of the power of their ballots by actively involving them in a campaign and election. In 2006, Leland Public School hosted over 1000 area students that were involved in and learned about the voting process. Later this year on October 30th, Leland will again host area schools and promote the vote of America. You can even check out our 2006 election photos and video. We’ll have new media shortly.
You can find and contact your local PTA for information on involvement, or get fun ideas if your school is already participating at the NSPME website.
This site is produced by students at Leland Public School in Leland, Michigan, under the direction of Ed Wodek.
